Does American Family Fitness Offer Any Discounts?

American Family Fitness will run some promotions once in a while based on each individual location and its offerings.

American Family Fitness does not offer a specific senior discount. However, certain locations might, so it is best to reach out to the gym nearest you to check in.

The same goes for student discounts, as each location has the potential to offer a different discount based on time of year. For example, there may be a back-to-school promotion that runs, and you’d want to keep an eye out for this!

Third party providers like Groupon also run promotions that you can utilize.

American Family Fitness Amenities

As an American Family Fitness member, you can expect a balance between working hard, finding community, and enjoying yourself at the same time.

  • Each location has a café that you can grab some pre workout fuel or a post workout treat at, for starters.
  • KidZone locations at each gym, which make going to the gym as a parent or guardian so much easier. The little ones can play and socialize while you do your thing!
  • Community events hosted throughout the year. American Family Fitness it is not only a gym but truly a community center, as well.
  • Access to all 9 gym locations.

American Family Fitness vs. YMCA

While YMCA locations are more widespread, that doesn’t mean that those living in Virginia may not have a better option when going through American Family Fitness at their gym.

Let’s compare the YMCA’s and American Family Fitness costs and benefits.

Are There Any Hidden Fees at American Family Fitness?

American Family Fitness offers personal training and team training options that are not included in the cost of general memberships.

Most locations will offer a voucher upon signing up for a membership that goes toward the cost of these classes, as an incentive.

For example, one location gives out a free personal training voucher and a free team training session voucher upon becoming a member. They note that the value is $50 and $25, so you could expect to pay about $50 per personal training session and $25 for a (still rather intimate) team training session.

Guest Pass Policy at American Family Fitness

Guests are welcome at all gyms starting at 9 am. Guests can stay until 7 pm Monday through Thursday, 6 pm on Fridays, and 3 pm on weekends.

The cost of a guest pass costs a standard $20 per visit.

However, if a member requests a guest pass, entry is free. Members can bring the same guest once a month for free. Technically, you could bring a different guest each day of the month as there is no limit to that, so long as they only come for free once in that month.

Does American Family Fitness Offer a Free Trial?

Speaking of getting into American Family Fitness for free, there is also a trial that potential members can opt into.

American Family Fitness offers one-day free trial. By entering your full name, phone number, email, and the location of the gym you’d like to try out, you will get a free pass to come see it all for yourself!

Someone at the desk will walk you through the gym, its amenities, and plans.

Can I Cancel My American Family Membership?

In order to cancel your American Family Fitness membership, you’ll need to fill out online forms and go through the official website.

Email or social media requests will not be noted by the right staff members and could jeopardize your cancellation.

If you just happen to need a break, you can also freeze your membership due to certain medical reasons or at your discretion. Freezing for medical reasons has no fee. However, elective freezing of your account will allow you to pay highly discounted monthly fees.

Annual fees are still billed as usual during a period where the account is frozen.
