Each Gold’s Gym location offers three tiers that start at $10 and go up to $40. Gold’s Gym charges an annual fee is $49, and certain plans will require a processing fee due at sign-up and the first and last months’ dues. However, the exact cost of a Gold’s Gym membership varies between states and locations.

Does Gold’s Gym Offer a Month-to-Month No Contract?

Gold’s Gym does offer month-to-month contacts on some of its plans. It is typically the higher-tiered plans that cost more per month.

You will also need to pay the first and last months due at some locations even if you choose no contract.

Are There Any Hidden Fees?

Like many other gyms, Gold’s does have an annual fee. It is $49 at all the locations on their website. While this may not be a hidden fee to some people, gym newbies might not be aware that they will need to pay these 60 days after sign-up.

Some Gold’s locations also require you to pay the first and last months due when you sign up. This is in addition to the processing fee (if applicable). While you already planned to pay for the first month, make sure you double that to account for the last month’s dues.

If you have payment issues, Gold’s can charge a late fee of $20.

Gold’s Gym Membership Deals

Gold’s does offer discounts and specials at certain times of the year. If you time it right, you can score no or a reduced processing fee or monthly rate. You can also find special packages on Groupon, like discounts on personal training packages.  

Gold’s Gym also offers military, teacher, and first responder discounts. These can be no processing fee or a percent of your monthly membership dues.

Does Gold’s Gym Offer a Student Discount?

Each location has different discounts, but you can expect a student discount from 10% to 50% off your monthly dues.

Does Gold’s Gym Offer a Free Trial?

If you visit your preferred location’s website, you will find an option for a free pass. This will give you access to that location for seven days. The pass is only valid if you haven’t visited or been a member in the past six months.

Gold’s Gym Membership Perks

Gold’s Gym has many perks, including:

  1. The option to work out at any other Gold’s Gym in the world. Many Gold’s locations are open 24 hours making it perfect for those who work the third shift or want to go at a slow time.
  2. Many locations have tanning beds, classes, childcare services, Wi-Fi, and food bars.
  3. For an added fee, you can also have access to personal training sessions with a trainer.
  4. Some locations also have a rewards program where you earn points for checking in at the Gym, buying personal training sessions, and more.

Does Gold’s Gym Have a Pool?

Some Gold’s Gym locations do have pools. These locations also have water aerobics classes and time for members to swim laps.

 Does Gold’s Gym Have a Sauna?

Some locations do have saunas and steam rooms. Make sure you check the website prior to signing up to see if your local location has a sauna.

Does Gold’s Gym Offer a Guest Pass?

Gold’s Gym allows you to bring a guest depending on the membership level you have. It will vary by location, but a gym in Southern California offers unlimited weekend guest privileges for Passport Gold members.

Some locations will also let you bring a friend with a free pass as long as they haven’t been a member or used a free pass in the past six months.

Gold’s Gym Cancellation Policy

To cancel your Gold’s Gym membership, you must notify your home club 30 days prior to your next billing date. This can be done in person or via mail.

If you have entered a contract, it will cost you $89 to cancel your membership before the year is up. If you are able to prove a medical condition, the cancellation fee is reduced to $20.

Gold’s Gym Classes

Gold’s Gym offers several different classes every day. Some of these include:

  • Indoor Cycling: This is Gold’s version of a spin class
  • Yoga: Gold’s offers basic yoga classes along with BODYFLOW, a yoga, tai chi, and Pilates workout perfect for strength and flexibility
  • Strength Building: Gold’s offers Bootcamp and Body Pump strength training classes
  • Zumba: Gold’s has Zumba classes as well as Dance Mix and POUND classes
