Peloton bikes have been gaining popularity for quite some time now. Thanks to the access they provide users to work out at home, these bikes are convenient. Not only that, but they also offer interactive live classes with instructors that help keep users on track. So, do you have to buy a Peloton bike or are you able to rent one on a monthly basis?
As of March 11, 2022, Peloton users can rent a Peloton bike for between $60 to $100 per month. There is also a delivery and setup fee of $150. If you choose to go with the One Peloton Club, your entire household will have the all-access membership. This allows you to have access to all classes and features.
What are the benefits of renting versus buying, you might wonder? We’ll dive further into the rental process, subscription requirements, and more below. Stick with me to learn about the ins and outs of renting a Peloton bike and how that might benefit you.
Do You Buy or Rent Peloton Bike?
Up until March 10, 2022, users would have had to simply buy their Peloton bike for about $1,500.
There are payment plans that Peloton makes available, like their $38/month for 39 months plan with 0% APR. This is a great way to spread out the cost of your Peloton, especially if you are an avid user and know that you’ll be riding your Peloton bike for years to come.
As of March 11, 2022, you can rent a Peloton Bike. The rental will cost between $60-100 per month. This recent change is great for those who may want to try out a Peloton bike for a couple of months before committing to buying one. If you decide you want to buy a bike, it is better to do that as soon as you make your decision. At $60-$100 a month, that rental fee will add up fast.
Once you know that you want a Peloton, you can switch to the $38 monthly plan and save yourself money overall.
The Peloton bike rental option is also great for those who have a gym membership but are working elsewhere for a month or so. Maybe you’ve just moved and want to continue working out but haven’t found a new gym.
Renting versus buying a Peloton will depend on each person and their needs.
Can You Rent the Peloton for a Few Months?
You can rent a Peloton bike for a few months, if you wish to. There is not a limit, but you can also rent for just one month if you’d like. It really depends on you and your need regarding the duration of your rental.
Peloton offers rentals that include an all-access membership that is included in the monthly cost. This allows you to have access to all classes, programs, features, and more.
You can decide what the duration of your rental will be and can cancel anytime. Returns are all free, so you don’t have to worry about an added pickup fee.
What Does One Peloton Club Include?
When you join the One Peloton Club, your entire household gets access to both the Peloton Bike and the all-access membership.
The Peloton bike will come with a limited warranty for the duration of the rental agreement. You’ll also have your Peloton bike delivered and set up for you, at a cost of $150.
The Peloton bike rental cost itself varies by region, but you can expect to pay a range of $60-$100 monthly. The cost includes not only the bike but also all-access which means that you can access classes, programs, and more.
To rent a Peloton, you simply go to the site and go to Peloton bike. There you will see the option to purchase the bike or, below, to rent the bike.
There is also the option to buy out your rental, if or when you do decide to buy a Peloton bike for good.
Can You Rent a Peloton on Vacation?
Heading on a trip and don’t want to get out of your Peloton routine? Totally understandable.
Depending on where you are taking your next vacation, you may just be in luck!
Peloton bikes are not available to rent at every single location, so do your research before you go. They are, however, available in specific Peloton stores across a few different states. Of course, we expect this rental option to keep expanding to other locations and regions of the country soon.
Currently, if you are traveling to Colorado, Texas, Florida, or Minnesota you may be able to rent a Peloton bike. Just keep in mind that rentals go per month, and that there is that delivery and setup fee. If you need a Peloton, though, this could be a good choice.
Going back to doing your research, not every single store in those 4 states will offer rentals. So, check the location closest to your vacation spot. If the location offers rentals and is within 30 miles of where you are staying, you will be good to go.
Can You Just Ride a Peloton Bike Without Subscription?
You can technically ride a Peloton bike without a subscription, but this really only applies to those who buy their Pelotons.
Typically, without a subscription, you would still get access to 3 classes, but they will not be live or interactive. These 3 classes will come pre-recorded to offer you some guidance sans subscription.
There is also a feature called ‘Just Ride.’ This allows you to ride your Peloton bike while it tracks your metrics but does nothing else.
None of these matters much when renting a Peloton bike, though.
Why?
Remember, your One Peloton Club subscription (the monthly rental) grants access to the bike but also gives all-access to classes.
Once you do decide to buy a Peloton, hopefully you’ll have experienced the all-access option from renting. You will then be able to choose if you want to pay for that as a now-extra extra subscription.
How Much is a Peloton Per Month?
The monthly cost of renting a Peloton bike differs. This is thanks to different costs of living and other economic factors. Prices in Texas may be quite different than those in Minnesota, for example. It also depends what part of the state you are located in, as costs vary that way, as well.
For example, in some parts of Austin that offer Peloton rentals, the monthly fee is $89. In Minneapolis happens to be the same.
You can expect a potential $70-$90 monthly fee for Peloton.
As always, do the research for your local Peloton store before making any big decisions. The staff are there to help you figure out what is best for you and your goals.

These are just a few of the bike brands that can be rented out or are on lease-to-buy plans. Unfortunately, estimates are difficult because each location and provider is going to do things differently.

Ultimately, it is best to search for spin and exercise bike rentals in your area and go from there. Good luck!
